Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2025
1. Introduction
LDiscord (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website and services at https://ldiscord.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
Account information. If you register, we collect data you provide such as email address, username, and authentication credentials (stored securely by our authentication provider).
Links and usage. When you create shortened links, we store the destination URL, optional labels or campaign names, link settings you choose, and related metadata needed to operate the Service (for example, link identifiers and timestamps).
Click analytics. When someone visits a shortened link, we may process technical data such as timestamps, approximate geographic information (e.g. country or region), browser type, operating system, device category, and similar analytics data to show statistics to link owners and to operate and secure the Service.
Payment information. Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider (e.g. Stripe). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers; the provider handles card data according to its own terms and privacy policy.
Technical & log data. Like most websites, we receive information from your browser or device, such as IP address, user agent, and cookies or similar technologies as described below.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including shortening links, redirects, and dashboards)
- Authenticate users and secure accounts
- Show analytics to link owners where that feature is enabled
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Detect abuse, fraud, and technical issues
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms
- Communicate with you about the Service when appropriate
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security (for example, where password-protected links use a short-lived cookie after a correct password), preferences, and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit certain features.
5. Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly analytics tools (such as Vercel Analytics or similar) to understand aggregate traffic and performance. Those tools may collect limited technical data in accordance with their policies.
6. Service providers
We rely on trusted third parties to host and operate the Service, including without limitation cloud hosting, database and authentication (e.g. Supabase), payment processing (e.g. Stripe), and analytics. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards and only as needed to provide their services.
7. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may depend on your plan or product settings. You may request deletion of your account subject to applicable law and legitimate business needs (such as billing records).
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your request.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us.
11. International users
If you access the Service from outside the country where our servers or providers operate, your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries where data protection laws may differ.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
